Dental turismAt present, it is possible to take care of foreign patients, whose number is constantly increasing. Foreign clients have simply found out that many equally good or even better doctors than in their home country work here. As I see it, the increase in the interest of foreigners in the so-called premium health care fully paid by patients is already enormous, and even faster growing after joining the EU. Nowadays, 1-2% of the population travel to another EU country for treatment. Mostly it concerns the provision of interventions, which are cheaper abroad, sometimes by 1/2 or more. The examples my include Austrians, Germans, Englishmen traveling for dental treatment to the Czech Republic. The cost of the treatment, however, in such cases, is paid by the patient. They have their teeth recovered here to a greater extent, from normal dental treatment over the medium and large prosthetic work to large tooth replacement. Foreign patients have not so much different requirements than the domestic ones but they require a professional approach and a treatment at a high level. The prerequisites include top equipment at the surgeries, from X-rays over visography, camera, machine endodontics, top quality materials, superior impression materials and the partnership with a precise and innovative laboratory.
